For decades, developers and DBAs have battled over who controls the world. With each new development paradigm, the battle flares again as developers seek greater flexibility, less structure and faster turnaround to deploy, whilst DBA's seek a more methodical approach, they having seen the wreckage that can sometimes result from "fast and loose".  But does that just make the DBA an inhibitor to productivity ?
