Database In-Memory is the industry leading in memory technology providing orders of magnitude faster analytics as well as faster hybrid OLTP workloads. Since its initial release with Oracle Database 12.1.0.2, further orders of magnitude improvements have been made to its performance, availability and manageability. In this session we will describe the basic architecture of Database In-Memory followed by a deep dive into some of the key new features in Oracle Database 12.2 such as In-Memory Expressions and In-Memory on Active Guard. We will conclude with a preview of upcoming exciting new functionality in the next release of Oracle Database: Oracle Database 18.1, functionality that further enhances Database In-Memory for the rapidly evolving needs of instantaneous data processing including IOT workloads.
