In near future, we may be seeing a change in the current Indian financial calendar structure. It's been validated for the feasibility of shifting the financial year to January 1 from the current April 1. Meaning, we are looking at a change of financial year from the current Apr-Mar to Jan-Dec year.

Once the financial calendar structure change is found feasible, accepted and decided to be implemented at the regulatory level, then the challenge lies with the software tool / products to quickly migrate the underlying existing calendar structure setup to a newer one and seamlessly converting the related data to synchronize with the change ; thereby enabling the customers who use the software tool / products to capture their financial data to easily migrate to the new calendar structure.

Presentation and discussion will be around how to meet this challenge in Oracle EBS Implementations, a clearer roadmap to changing the Accounting Calendar structure defined for Indian financial year.
